The President of Senior Living is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the senior living line of business, driving short and long-term profitability and growth of the company by working with other executive leadership and other management to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies. The role is responsible for developing and mentoring a world-class team to deliver community operational excellence, required renovations and capital replacement and sales and marketing strategy and execution to meet financial goals. Ensures appropriate governance and controls are in place to meet all senior living regulatory requirements.
Hire, train, set performance goals and timelines, monitor performance and provide coaching for SVP Operations, VP of Development and VP of Sales and Marketing.
• Provide overall operations function strategy to ensure properties offer high quality services, exceed customer expectations, meet all regulatory requirements, and achieve budgeted NOI targets.
• Evaluate and provide strategic guidance to ensure that the communities provide high quality care to residents.
• Ensure that the company’s policies and procedures are effective in identifying, assessing and mitigating risks associated with providing resident care.
• Ensure all capital projects meet the division’s targeted budget, schedule, and scope.
• Review relevant KPI’s of developed sales strategy, operational plans, tactics, and processes that drive revenue growth to ensure financial objectives for the company’s senior living communities are met, providing strategic guidance to address challenges.
• Participate in the development of the overall company plans and programs as a strategic partner.
• Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
• Support the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the Board and senior executives in performing their responsibilities.
• Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the senior living division.
• Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Board as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
• Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of senior living leaders on financial issues impacting their budgets.
• Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization, i.e., evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions and/or mergers.
• Be an advisor on any contracts into which the division may enter.
• Provide input on the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group supporting the senior living division.
• Collaboration with Corporate Executive members of MBK Real Estate.
• BA/BS degree required.
• Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum 15 years in leadership roles in senior living industry.
• Experience in securing Management contracts
• Experience in transactions of Senior Housing properties
• Microsoft Suite competency. • Energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image. • Strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus. • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
