National Sales Manager (Oncology)

Location: Canada

Job Summary/Position Objectives:

As a critical member of Regeneron’s newly created Canada country organization, Regeneron is seeking an experienced Sales Manager responsible for leading, hiring, developing and retaining Regeneron’s Oncology field sales team in the Canada. Reporting into the GM, ROW Oncology, the National Sales Manager will be responsible for ensuring strong and consistent sales performance that exceeds target expectations allowing Regeneron and its co-commercialization partner to maintain leadership across therapeutic areas (skin and lung cancer). The Sales Manager will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders and Alliance partners to ensure seamless cooperation, strong execution and overall performance. Additionally, the Sales Manager will be responsible for the implementation of the commercial strategies according to company/alliance goals and developing detailed business plans to support the Canada Libtayo Team.

Job Duties:

The successful candidate will closely cooperate within the local leadership team and the broader cross-functional brand team to develop Regeneron’s first Oncology sales field team in the Canada. He/She will be a role model for the national sales organization, championing Regeneron values and developing a winning spirit within the team while ensuring strong and consistent sales performance that exceeds target expectations. The Sales Manager will report to the  Oncology GM ROW.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing sales team delivering on sales goals through quality customer interactions in conjunction with HR and Talent Development training programs
  • Provide overall leadership in ensuring strong, consistent team performance of the sales specialist team that meets/exceeds brand objectives, while demonstrating accountability for results.
  • Provide direct reports with appropriate and relevant feedback, coaching training interventions, development planning and talent management.
  • Develop National, Regional and Local Account plans, ensuring plans are operationalized with clear tactical plans assigned to each team member
  • Assure Incentive Compensation plans are aligned to brand strategies, tactics and aligned to performance targets
  • In collaboration with our co-commercialization alliance partner, ensure strong coordination and collaboration of Alliance field sales teams supporting commercial success.
  • Work synergistically with the Commercial Operations team to ensure the delivery and management of the operational processes required for Field Force deployment and effectiveness. Including, but not limited to:
    • Use and maintenance of CRM (Veeva).
    • Supervision of data analytics to ensure company goals are met including internal customer needs.
    • Supervision of business and sales KPI’s.
  • Establish Regeneron’s reputation and relationships with key HCPs (e.g. National, Regional, local clinical experts, etc.) across therapy areas (Dermatology, Pneumology, Radiology, and Medical Oncology).
  • Ensure Regeneron Field Specialists are viewed as clinical experts in their therapeutic areas.
  • Ensure a successful and productive working relationship with cross-functional colleagues and Regeneron’s co-commercialization partners.
  • Partner with multiple internal stakeholders to proactively analyze and address market dynamics and trends that support brand and collaboration objectives.

Job Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree required, Master’s degree or other advanced education/certifications a plus.
  • Experienced business/sales leader (10+ years overall biopharma experience; minimum of 5 years sales leadership/management in oncology.
  • Successful record of hiring, coaching, developing, promoting and retaining top talent and effectively managing team performance
  • Proven success and positive track record of sales performance with a high degree of integrity
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills; should be an effective team player who can engender credibility and confidence.
  • Proven ability and success in coaching deep customer relationships
  • Excellent planning, prioritization, communication and presentation skills
  • Sales technology competent in developing sales data and CRM systems
  • Strong ability to partner and collaborate.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required 30-40%, some on weekends for conferences and meetings
  • Highest personal values and ethical standards.
  • Fluent English language skills. Second European language an advantage

Desirable:

  • Oncology/ImmunoOncology/biologic experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience selling on a co-promoted product will be valued highly.
  • Experience in Dermatology and/or Oncology therapeutic areas preferred.
  • Established Key Opinion leader relationships within Dermatology or Oncology.
  • Alliance experience preferred
  • 10+ years of “progressive” industry/relevant professional experience
